Email and calendar

Connect Outlook, Gmail or another email account to read, reply and plan your day inside nancit.

Connect your email

Open Inbox and choose how to connect:

Your email stays with your provider. nancit reads it when you open it and keeps only the secure connection. You can disconnect at any time from the Inbox.

Your inbox in nancit

Read, reply, reply all, forward, flag, archive, move and delete emails, just like in your usual email app. Hover over or focus a message for quick Flag, Pin and Delete actions. Pinned messages stay at the top of the Inbox in this browser for this mailbox; Pin does not change your provider mailbox. Hide or show the folder pane from the Inbox toolbar, or collapse the mailbox address to hide its folder list. If a sender is one of your saved clients or contacts, nancit shows the link to their page.

Email signature

Open the gear at the far top right of Inbox, then choose Signatures. Email settings has separate Email account and Signatures sections. Use Formatted · Word paste to paste directly from Microsoft Word or an existing email signature. The editor retains supported fonts, sizes, colours, bold/italic/underline, spacing, links, lists, tables and images. HTML mode lets you paste or edit signature HTML; plain-text mode is available too. Switching to plain text without typing keeps the formatted original. Editing plain text deliberately replaces the formatting.

Save signature keeps the layout for new messages, replies, forwards and worker drafts. Small pasted or uploaded PNG, JPEG, GIF and WebP logos (under 100 KB each) are sent as inline images. Keep signature text under 5,000 characters. Scripts and unsupported active content are removed. If Word or another email supplies an image reference without the image itself, add the image from a file; the editor tells you when it could not copy an image. Font availability and the receiving email app can affect appearance.

You can also ask nancit to update your signature. It can read and edit the saved formatted document while retaining the existing image references; embedded image bytes are not included in its chat context.

Your calendar

With Outlook or Gmail connected, Calendar shows your day, week or month. Create events, invite people, add an online meeting link, and accept or decline invitations. (Calendar isn’t available for IMAP accounts.)

Let nancit help

nancit prepares the email or event as a card. It is only sent when you click Send. nancit treats email content as information only: it will never follow instructions written inside an email.

Calendar reminders

The notification bell at the bottom right shows reminders for your connected calendar’s events while nancit is open. Reminders follow the event’s reminder setting, with 15 minutes used if no setting is available. Disabled reminders and declined or cancelled events are skipped. View event opens its details in Calendar. All-day event cards show the event date. Operating-system notifications are not included.

Email settings and notifications

The gear at the far top right of Inbox opens Email settings. Choose Email account to review or disconnect the connection, or Signatures to edit a formatted, HTML or plain-text signature. Temporary loading failures retry quietly; a failed folder-count refresh does not show an error over a working Inbox. General settings → Notifications controls new-email alerts, calendar reminders and bottom-right pop-ups. Alerts start with newly arriving unread emails; connecting a mailbox does not flood the center with old mail.
