Working with nancit, your AI
How to ask nancit for help in everyday words, how its changes and Undo work, voice, effort levels and daily credits.
Ask in your own words
You don’t need special commands. Talk to nancit the way you would talk to a capable assistant. For example:
- “Which invoices are overdue?”
- “Show me all leads from LinkedIn.”
- “Add a note to Acme: they want to start in March.”
- “Draft an invoice for PX3 Medical for this month’s support, R4,500.”
- “Open the Contacts page.”
- “Write a friendly reply to Sarah’s last email.”
nancit sits at the bottom of every page, so you can ask without leaving what you’re doing. It also knows what’s on your screen: on a client’s page, “add a note here” means that client.
One chat for conversation and work
Ask a question, talk through an idea or tell nancit what to do in the same chat. Simple conversation takes a quicker path automatically. Workspace questions and requests to make changes use the relevant tools and your chosen thinking effort. Replies appear as they are generated, so you can start reading before the answer is complete.
nancit formats its answers so they are easy to scan: headings for longer answers, bullet points for lists, bold for key facts like dates and amounts, and addresses on their own lines. Under its latest answer it suggests two or three next steps (for example “Draft a reply to Jeremy”); click one to ask it. When nancit searches the web, each source it used is listed under the answer with the site’s icon.
Ask for a list in the main chat (for example “show me all active clients”) and nancit shows the list as a table, the same rows and columns as the list page, with a button to open the full list. Click a name to open that record.
You stay in control: changes with Undo
When you ask nancit to change something, such as adding a client, updating a contact, adding a note or a custom field, it does it straight away and shows a card listing exactly what changed. If it isn’t what you wanted, click Undo on the card and everything it changed goes back to how it was.
- Undo works while the chat is open, as long as nobody has changed that record again since. Otherwise, ask nancit to change it back.
- Undo puts a record nancit created into Trash, where it stays for 30 days.
- To adjust what nancit wrote (a name, a phone number, a note), click Edit beside Undo, change it and choose Save edits. Undo still takes the whole change back.
- nancit only makes a change when you ask for it, never because an email, file or web page says so.
Ask nancit to start a worker and it starts straight away, just like pressing Start work on the worker’s page; the result shows in the chat when the work is done. Some things can’t be taken back, so nancit still asks first: sending emails, replies and forwards, calendar invitations and responses, inviting or removing users, payments and billing, and permanent deletions. Their cards wait for you to click the button, such as Send reply or Send invite. Use Edit on one of these cards to change the wording yourself, or tell nancit what to change. If you don’t want it, simply don’t click it.
On an open invoice or quote, nancit’s edits go straight into the form (with Undo on its reply), just like typing. Nothing is saved until you choose Save document. From the main chat, invoices and quotes appear as a preview first; choose Use draft to open it.
What nancit won’t do on its own
- It acts on your instructions. Reversible changes can save immediately with Undo; sending, invitations, payments, billing and permanent deletions still need your confirmation.
- It can prepare payment changes, but their cards wait for you to confirm them.
- It treats emails, files and web pages as information, never as instructions. An email can’t tell nancit what to do.
- It only sees what your account is allowed to see.
Voice, effort and chats
- Voice: press the microphone and speak; your words appear as you talk, and you choose when to send.
- Effort: the control in the chat box (for example “Medium”) sets how hard nancit thinks for workspace work and deeper requests. Higher effort allows more thinking; simple conversation can still use the quicker path automatically.
- Arrange your sidebar: drag the main menu items directly. You can also right-click an item for Move up, Move down or Reset sidebar order, or focus it and use Alt + Up/Down. Shift + F10 opens its options with a keyboard. Ask nancit, for example, “Put Workers above Inbox.” Your order is remembered for your account in this browser; access to pages stays the same.
- Recent chats: past conversations are in the sidebar. Minimize a chat to keep it waiting while you do something else.
Daily credits
Each person gets a daily allowance of AI credits, which refills at midnight in your time zone. A typical question uses about 1%. Click the small battery beside the chat box, or open Settings › Usage, to see how much you have left.
